Why is it we have family websites? Good lord, it's not like we're a corporation!

Okay, to be honest with you I have no idea why we have a family website other than to allow me to geek out and learn the CMS that drives this damn thing. One thing is for certain however, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience. And despite the fact that building websites has become a commodity and there's no real money in it, I guess it's nice to know that I could always fall back on this before cleaning slop out of grease pans. After all, there are still quite a few small businesses who could use a bit of help and have NO idea where to turn. So you can't get $20K-$100K anymore to build a site... goodbye 1999! But! You CAN get $1K-$5K if you're decent. So there. Maybe that's why I do it.

Perhaps the biggest reason we've got this site is so I can spew my self indulgent tripe at those who care (friends, family, the weird homeless guy down the block, whatever), and so that there's a direct access to the latest happenings in our world. Granted, it would be PUBLIC happenings as I'm not about to post intricate details online for all to see. If I wanted to do that I'd post to Facebook and risk their horrible privacy settings.

Which brings me to the final dilemma. What does one post on a blog, vs. what they post on Facebook. Why would anyone come here anyway? Who knows... who cares... I'm doing it! Enjoy the random "articles" folks!
